About us

DANCEARTS is the oldest and most significant private ballet school led by internationally well-known former Viennese soloists ballet dancers. Austria’s capital is recognized for being one of the “most liveable cities in the world.”

In 2006, while still dancing as principal and soloist dancers with Vienna State Opera, Simona Noja-Nebyla and Boris Nebyla had the idea of founding a center for classical dance in a central area of Vienna. DANCEARTS had the purpose of becoming a place for all those interested in discovering the joy and the benefits of ballet dance. Multiculturality and variety are the hallmarks of its ever since.

Over the years, DANCEARTS has become a familiar place where everybody who loves classical ballet feels more than welcome. The central location in Vienna´s 3rd district is easy to reach. The space is very generous, having 825m² altogether, is composed of two bright studios (150m² each of them) and a studio theatre (170m²) with all the necessary auxiliary spaces (dressing rooms, etc.), offering the best setting for learning and development in the field of dancing.

As former internationally renowned ballet dancers with family artistic backgrounds, Mrs. Simona Noja-Nebyla and Mr. Boris Nebyla initiated DANCEARTS through example. They nurtured the pursuit of excellence in ballet as a profession or as a simple pleasure of dancing in every child or adult who was curious to discover its secrets. And so, during the last 16 years of existence, generations of dancers enjoyed, at different levels and from different perspectives, the benefit, and joy of dancing.

Due to the intensive artistic and pedagogical dance movement research of the last years, the dynamic team of teachers developed new learning and teaching strategies. Their evaluation and acknowledgment took place through the ongoing reflection, practice, and feedback of students, parents, teachers, choreographers, and all involved. The results encouraged the team to explore further and tailor the programs accordingly.

The values we believe in:
  • An innovative model of teaching classical dance to create a collaborative environment among all involved in the process of learning and teaching
  • Ongoing personal development by encouraging both students and teachers towards self-awareness & reflection & self-evaluation
  • Sharing the beliefs in the values of moral integrity and generosity
  • Cultivating an environment open to creativity and innovation
  • Pursuit of excellence in balancing the challenging and the supporting networking
  • Inclusion, support, and respect as approaches in education for high performance
  • Nurturing a health-orientated vision for career advancement and career transition
Our vision and mission are to create the best possible setting for the full development of each individual who enters our learning, teaching, or performing programs.
